Jack is asking people to try and purchase from an independent bookstore where possible, check her website for details of how to find it.

Considering she is sponsored by a major supermarket now, that seems a very odd request.

Err, no. If you knew her you would know why she asks for people to use independant book sellers.
Despite her being 'sponsored by a major supermarket' she hasn't gone the way of so many and abandoned her ethics for the sake of a few sheckels.
Please go and read her blog if you want to get to know her and her ethics etc.

I think what orangesmartie meant, they are surprised she was allowed to. When celebs & public figures promote things they are bound by contract terms.

    Missus watches each day.
Perhaps it's just me but find that there's not much detail in what each of them are doing, so seemingly shallow in what they are actually doing thus making it more difficult to make a judgement.

ahh right, Old Joe, so you don't watch it and just passing along Missus' comments. Agree with you - sometimes their comments don't match their judgements.

Sainsburys paid her to do an advert for them. That's not the same as being sponsored by them. She does work for lots of people and organisations because she has herself and a son to support; she also does charity work and supports various good causes (she's just got back from Africa where she was working with Oxfam) and promotes others eg https://twitter.com/FishwivesChoirs/status/428681917278736384/photo/1
She makes budget meals but always uses high welfare meat in them (when she uses meat) because she decided not to let poverty compromise her principles.
