About VisitEd: Since 2014 is the year about Homecoming Scotland we are excited to introduce to you our first photo contest around the Scottish theme. If you dream of visiting Scottish capital Edinburgh then this is a chance for you! All you have to do is read on, enter the competition and maybe you could be the lucky winner to stay 2 nights at one of our hotels!

The theme: We know Scottish heritage is everywhere, and what better time to celebrate this than in the year of Homecoming 2014. We would like to invite you to help us showcase Scottish heritage around the world! Shoot and share your Scottish themed selfie; perhaps next to a local object descended from Scotland, a famous landmark, Scottish tradition or your favourite Scottish food and drink – be creative!

How to enter: There are several ways to enter our 2014 photo competition; you can share your photo through as many channels as you wish and tell us in which hotel you would like to stay using #Channings_Hotel or #Oldwaverley or #TheHowardHotel or #Holyrood_hotel:

We encourage you to be creative as you can be! Here are a few examples that we came up with to give you some ideas:

Bermuda: Hamilton Parish (one of the nine parishes, named after a Scottish aristocrat)

Canada: The Saint Andrews Society of Toronto

Italy: Red Telephone Booth in Barga (imported from Edinburgh, Scotland)

The deadline: The closing date for entries is 1st April 2014.
Winners: Our favourite images will be selected after the closing date and put forward to a public vote; the photo which receives the most votes will win our top prize.

Terms & Conditions
Any stay subject to availability, valid until 28th December 2014 based on double occupancy of a standard double or twin bedroom.
All of our hotels are non-smoking, Pets not permitted.
The jury images will be selected by the management team of The Edinburgh Collection; these selected images will then be put to a public vote, the images with the most votes wins. Every effort will be made to ensure voting is fair.
The winner will be contacted after the voting has closed with details on how to claim their prize. If a preferred Edinburgh Collection hotel is not available on selected date an alternative may be offered, but only subject to availability. Alternatives dates will also be offered, but only subject to availability.
This prize has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for other goods or services.
If this prize is not redeemed before 28th December 2014 it is considered void.
