Hello Counting down the days

I have just read your story and have subscribed to your diary. I can empathise with what has happened, post marriage break down, I have a story that is quite similar to yours and can see how it would make you want to console yourself with spending on nice things...
So sorry to hear about your hand - how inconvenient! How are you getting into work?
What's your plan to tackle the debt? Are you going to pay it down as soon after pay day as possible, or wait till the end of the month?
Have you tried applying for a balance transfer card with your own bank? They may be able to give you a better APR than the cheeky 26%.
Have you considered a life of balance card, where you do pay interest but it's smaller?
Good luck! I will be back to check up on you. I am myself not doing terribly well at this, and know very well the story of racking up a card bill in the process of paying off another card.... But don't worry, we have to persevere and learn from our mistakes, it's going to be ok.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

Oh no, poor you
Is it your writing hand? How long will it take before you're able to use it again?
I do that too these days - take something bad and find the MSE angle as the silver lining
Makes you a bona fide DFW I reckon

Hello  I've subscribed! I can relate to a lot of what you have said, and running a marathon in April! Wow! Is that the London Marathon? I'm hoping to do a half marathon in October but will have to see how I get on...
Good luck and look forward to following your journey!
