    Don't be so sensitive.


    WE weren't saying your choice was wrong for you, but why it would be for the OP. As if the income isn't needed they must already have a good savings amt elsewhere. And why taking a LS when you don't need it isn't wise.


    If you need it, it is another matter.

    Sorry, I didn't want to come across as sensitive, just putting across a different point of view rather than the purely financial one.


    I didn't need the lump sum and it sounded like the OP didn't either.


    In the end the OP will make their own decision on what is best in their circumstances.
