If it comes with the legendary Renault 'reliability' then I would walk away now!!!
Personally I would go for a Skoda Yeti if you want a small 4x4. Skoda are doing some good finance deals and they are great cars.
Online prices will generally be cheaper than main dealers, and from experience most main dealers will not match online prices, they will tell you all sorts of stories about why you shouldn't buy online.
I would check very carefully the site where you plan on buying online for hidden charges or other T&Cs that are restrictive but the general experience seems to suggest that buying online offers no more problems than buying from a dealer with a shopfront."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
I was looking at the Yeti (loved the Top Gear review) but the Qashqai just seemed a bit nicer inside.
The only thing I don't understand about Nissan is why they only have an auto up/down electric window on the driver window instead of on every window. It's a gripe I have.0 -

My wife had a Nissan a few cars back, it was nice enough and seemed reliable but was a bit dull to drive (it was an automatic which didn't help). We've had a few Skoda's since then and have been really impressed. I've got an Octavia vRS at the moment which is great fun for a relatively cheap car (Skoda were doing 0% finance and VAT free when I got it). No immediate plans to replace mine at the moment but I would certainly take a Yeti out for a test drive.
That's a bit odd about the electric windows on the Nissan.
One of my neighbours has got a Qashqai and he seems happy enough with it, it's certainly much better in the ice and snow than the BMW he had before."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
My Nissan Note Tekna was an auto and was nice enough (liked the infotainment system) but it was boring to drive. The kids loved the space in the back though.
Also it was (and still is) relatively cheap to buy.
I don't think much of the insides of the newer version. Some silly changes they've made, such as no fabric attached from the parcel shelf to the seat so when it's slid forward to increase boot space, you can now see what's inside the boot from the outside. Come on Nissan, THINK!
Only thing I really prefer is the new gadgets cos the original infotainment system was good but using an iPod it wasn't perfect (forgot what folder you were in once you'd switched the car engine off and left it more than a minute before switching it back on again).0 -
Why dont you save up for it and buy it. I dont understand these agreements where you buy something over years on something that plummets in value.0

I've always bought 2nd hand cars so thought why the heck not own a fancy new car for once in my life. I know I'm paying interest on something that's going to plummet in price but that's partly the nature of the beast. Saving up is a possibility if I wait say 6 years before buying a car.0

I was going to buy a new Qashqai a few years ago, it was going to cost me around £22K (2.0d Tekna 4WD) however due to lack of them at the time I end up with a 6 month old model with 4500 on the clock. Ex- Nissan manager company car, saved over £5K and it was like new. I'd never buy a new car again.0

Yup, my Nissan Note was about 8 months old. £14.5k new but I got it from Westway for £9k. However, now doing my research I've realised just how much margin they have to play with so I wonder if I could have got a brand new Note for £9k if I'd have negotiated.0

So should I walk away from Westway Nissan's offer? Do you really think they can't compete or just won't compete?0
-
Also I've got the discounted OTR price from Nissan. Now they say that their PCP rates are what's letting the whole thing down so is there any way of getting the car from WestWay but using a 3rd party PCP finance company?
If so, can anyone give me details of who I should be speaking to?
Using this: http://www.pcpcal.co.uk/ I need an APR of 4.9% to get the same overall monthly cost taking into account WestWay Nissan's OTR price.0
