Quandary - too many barriers being obscured by desperation??

Hey, me again!
Right so here's my predicament. I've registered myself with a consultant agency and they got in touch today with a potential opportunity. For those of you who've read my previous thread I'm not exactly drowning in these but I'm not sure if I'm allowing my desperation to cloud my judgement.
Pros - The role is a slight step-back (back to sales as opposed to compliance) but because it's consultancy the pay is good (before tax more than double my weekly rate). It's a three-six month contract.
Cons - It's over a ninety minute commute away and I would be working a 12-8 shift five days a week (one of which is a Saturday). I have an eight month old and three year old at home. If I accept I can basically wave goodbye to any potential React funding/employer incentives and after the contract ends I'll be in no better position credit-wise so finding more work in the industry will be tough.
This is my first and only offer so far (it's been a month) so do I see this as a great chance and leap on it or do I hold fire, pick up a new qualification with react that may open wider avenues and hope for the best?:(
