I would like one to send to a debt collector, to obtain a signed agreement, a CCA? Also i gather i need to send £1, a postal order is ok? dont want to send a cheque!Many thanks!!

Postal order is fine, don't forget to send recorded. I believe this letter is correct.

This is my right under your obligation to supply a copy of the agreement under the legislation contained within s.78 (1) Consumer Credit Act 1974 (s.77 (1) for fixed sum credit). Your obligation also extends to providing a statement of account. I enclose a £1 postal order in payment of the statutory fee, PO Serial Number xxxxxxx.

They contain pretty much the same info - I think Crown's has an extra bit if you are intending to state that the debt is statute barred (if no payments have been made for 6 years), but I think as long as you clearly state that you don't acknowledge any debt, and quote the bit about the consumer credit act, and advise them of the deadline for responding, then it will be fine."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

It means that the recipient of the letter cannot use the letter against you in future in a court case - ie by saying that the letter in some way associates you with the debt.
Well, that at least is what I understand it means, however I am sure a legal eagle on here will give the formal explanation!!!
