in Cutting tax
I am feeling a bit daft as I am unsure if I need to do something immediately.
Basically through ill health I have had to stop working as of 4 January 2014. I had cut my hours from 40 to 20 hours a week in recent months.
I am not sure when or if I put in for a tax rebate - whether I should be doing this now or later. All help much appreciated.
Thank you.

You can apply now if you are definite that you will have no more taxable income this tax year.
If you do nothing it will eventually be refunded to you if you are due a rebate.0 -

if you are on PAYE and are still working and receiving pay (even if reduced) each month then your tax will be correct as long as your taxcode is correct
what is your taxcode?0 -

I am wondering if I am entitled to SSP as unable to work?0

Have you given notice at work, or did they terminate your employment?
Were you receiving SSP, and if so for how long?
if you are not entitled to SSP any more, then you should be able to claim ESA (Employment Support Allowance). Work through this guide to find out more.Signature removed for peace of mind0
