Smart Meter but still on "deemed export" for FIT payments

Had our 4kw PV system installed two weeks ago and have just finished the FIT application. Our property is only 6 months old and is fitted with an EON smart meter. I queried whether we would be paid on actual export rather than deemed.

We are now with Npower who have confirmed they will be paying us the 50% rate as opposed to an export rate as our meter doesn't have an export function enabled.

Our meter is a Landis+Gyr E470 - http://www.landisgyr.co.uk/product/landisgyr-e470-zigbee-smart-electricity-meter/

What isn't clear is whether the meter can be reconfigured remotely to measure export...
