Clean links....

Hi guys, hope everyone is well?
Just a quicky. I posted a comp the other day and I was later told people could see my personal details.
I went on to the link and the website didn't give me an option of logging out...or logging in for that matter, and I couldn't see my details anywhere.
Do you think its because I clicked on a link from an email? Even though it was a subscription email, rather than direct to me?
Or is it because I've entered a competition on there before and its saved my details? I'm a little confused...

Some email links contain enough information for the web site to identify you, but not also to log you in.
I assume that's what happened in this case.
For example, if I click an email link to me from graze.com, I see some certain bits of my info on the screen and I can perform certain low security actions as if I was logged in, but if I wanted to view truly personal details, the site would make me log in0 -
I agree with Jeddentad...
The best way to ensure clean links, if it's something you've clicked onto, is to go back to the front page of the website, and navigate to the comp from there. Before you fill any details in on the entry form (make sure it hasn't filled any in for you), copy the address onto your comp post for the board.
Generally if it looks something like http://www.blahblahblah.com/competition/win-1000-pounds, it will almost certainly be a clean link.
The ones to worry about have a series of digits / letters at the end that are your unique identifier, e.g.: http://www.blahblahblah.com/competition/win-1000-pounds/JW12342594QvRZ
(both of these website addresses obviously made up, and vastly simplified...)0 -
Thanks for your help guys
