I've been with them for 15 years and have been arguing with them over this. Apparently, some people have been getting the box for £149 with free installation. I can get it for £299 plus £60 installation and they won't budge. I tried to cancel Sky altogether but they won't do it as the account is in dh's name and he's overseas right now. He's going to cancel it when he comes home. I'm cutting my nose off to spite my face as we don't get Freeview, cable or anything here. Not even channel 5 on analogue. But i'm so mad at Sky about the random nature on who is lucky enough to get an offer! :mad:

15 years, without a break. I'm on the £37 a month package, but apparently loyalty counts for nothing!

Ive been a sky customer for years and years, currently have a sky+ box downstairs and ordinary box upstairs. Wanted to replace sky box upstairs with a another sky+ box. Intial price £99 including install. Threat to cancel and go with virgin, new price £49. Woman was playing hardball really pushed her to get it free but she wouldn't budge despite me asking for the address for the 30 days written notice. Had to change my mind suddenly at the end of the call. She knew we were playing a game, think she thought she won but I reckon it was a draw. we don't even get virgin in our estate.
