After a hecticly busy couple of weeks our house has sold and we'll be moving in about 8 weeks, fingers crossed.
What's the best thing to do when moving re. comping? I could take a break until after we move maybe? Reluctantly
Anyone had any experience with this?
Any advice very much appreciated. Thanks in advance

When I moved 4 years ago I still comped depending on the end date. If you know your new add then any finishing after the move enter in your new add and any that are not too near moving in your old add. I also made sure I had mail redirect for a couple of months as prizes do sometimes just turn up.
Not sure if it helps but that's what I did.:)0 -
We completed on our purchase last week, I stopped comping (other than instant wins and the dailies that dont need an address on entry) at the start of December (I comp as added not by end date) and I really enjoyed the break, I got loads done ready for the move ...... kind of glad I didn't lose December to the advents for the first time in 4/5 years!lol
I feel nice and relaxed for getting back to it now, I just need to unpack, build furniture and get my bearings first ..... well, maybe, which way to the comps?? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Just become FTBs & Aiming to be mortgage free by 2034
Thank you to all who post on the comps/freebies forums you've helped us save our deposit :money:0 -
I've moved a couple of times since beginning comping. I kept entering most comps for websites that didn't require you to enter your address as figured with those I would be notified by email. I won a few small things and when they asked for address I just said it would depend on how soon they were sending it as I was in the process of moving and it didn't seem to cause any problems. One company even got back to me when it was ready to be sent to check address then. For competitions that required my address, I mainly avoided those for a couple of weeks as we rent and didn't actually know where we were moving to until fairly last minute so comping by end date wasn't really an option either!2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

Continue as usual with anything that just wants an e-mail address or mobile number.
If you have the address you are moving to it should be safe to use that address for anything with a closing date after you move and probably for at least 7 days before you do.
Mail redirection should catch letters but will not make any difference to couriers.
(you may find you are a little too busy before the move to worry too much about comping)0 -
If you want to enter any comps that require an address, could you put the address of a relative?0

I did this for a few but if you don't live near them and it was couriered etc.. and delivery note left it would be difficult to pick up as they wouldn't have your ID. I did do this for a few holiday comps where the most they would send is a letter though.2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

I moved last year and right up until moving I used my old address (didn't want to tempt fate but using new address!)
I had mail set up to be redirected and had formed a good enough relationship with purchasers of our house that they would contact me if any courier deliveries arrived. (Un)fortunately they didn't need to as I didn't win anything!Massive thanks to all who contribute on the MSE forums, especially on grabbit and competition boards0 -
Thanks for the advice!! You've given me a few things to think of that I hadn't thought of
May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx0
