Hello!
I read the first post on this thread a little while ago. I have been mostly reading debt free diaries and started my own. I read this post and I thought; "I haven't seen a single negative post on this forum!". Then I started reading the threads just on the debt free wannabe forum and was very surprised to see how some people talk to each other. It amazed me that people who had been in similar situations could be quite so harsh. I read what Martin wrote about being kind to each other and he was quite right. For some people this forum is their only form of support. The stress, depression and anguish that comes from being in debt - regardless of amount, is massive. Everyone's situation is different.
There are tips and advise for everyone with or without debt and opportunities to work towards any kind of goal, whether that is losing weight, quitting smoking or saving for something.
I know that some people may need a mental slap to realise that their situation is quite serious but something must have brought them here in the first place so surely they have already had that. Now they need support and encouragement to stick to their plans.
I am hoping that in my journey to be debt free I can get help and support but also give as much help and support to those who are also on similar journeys.
Thank you to all those people who make these boards such a great help and for anyone who receives a nasty comment or response, don't let it stop you from reaching your goals.

Hello October Starter
Most people on here are lovely but there's the odd one who isn't unfortunately.
Best thing to do I think is ignore them and report them to MSE.
Good luck with your debt free plans :T

OMG that looks so yummy and I am freezing cold and starving! I will decline though because they look like they may have callories in them and I am trying to cut back on those LOL. :rotfl:
I should get back to work... These forums are sooo addictive!
