Hi folks,
I recently switched some DD's to Dankse so to avail of their £100 switching incentive. That's all gone through fine, but I have stupidity gone into an unplanned overdraft for a day; I totally forgot about another DD coming out. My question now is whether they're likely to waive this fee if I was to ring them up or go into a branch. I am off tomorrow, so might I be better off popping into the branch I opened it in, or giving them a ring about this ?
Thanks.
(PS. Is there a charge for not funding my minimum requirements on these accounts?)
Thanks !

Depending on the type of account you opened there are 2 possible charges, £25 for getting an item paid when you were overdrawn, and £20 for being overdrawn. If you were overdrawn by less than £5 these charges do not apply.
Call in and say you got confused re switching the dd's and they might refund as a goodwill gesture.0 -
Yeah, will do, cheers! I went 12-odd quid over my planned overdraft of £300. Hopefully they waive them for me. First time offence and sll that...

Andy when you were switching you shouldn't have had to do anything but give your old bank details to them. They should do everything and if you went into an overdraft you are not liable. It's all explained on Martin Lewis' main banking pages. It's called the 7 day switch.
(I recently left Danske after terrible service so why anyone would want to join them is baffling me but that's another story!)0 -
Hi mate,
Nah, it was my mistake - I have had the account open a few months now. I was tight for cash and didn't happen to check my account. When I did the following day I realised a DD I had forgotten about coming out had debited the account and brought me 12-odd quid over my planned £300 limit. Am going to pop in shortly to try and blag them to waive the charge. Here's hoping, anyway...!0
