I would say contact Orange and see if you can come to an arrangement. I'm sure they'll be happy to do this as a short term solution.

Ok first of breath and relax, its not the end of the world.

Ring orange explain that you can not afford to pay the bill in full this month but can afford to pay £XXX (insert you payment) and can you come to an arrangement with them. Also while your on the phone to them may i suggest that you have a call level put on your phone so you can not go above that call charge each month. This will allow you to buget for the phone each month and you will know exactly how much the bill is going to be.

yeah I would also suggest the same.

We where struggling in January and had to call vodafone and do the same. 1/2 the bill with no additional interest on top . Then paid the full amount 2 months later. Quite surprised they did this. Then again I had been with them for 11years

It's definitely worth calling to check - I'm sure they'd rather have their money in 2 months time than not at all. See if you can come to see kind of payment plan with them.

Also call and ask to be lowered onto the cheapest contract they'll give you (and be disciplined about not going over min/text limits). If you're only 3 months in it's unlikely they'll let you cancel, but you might be able to downgrade to a more manageable level.

I used to have a contract with Orange many moons ago and asked them if i could put a limit on my phone but they wouldn't let me.

I tried to explain that other networks done this but still they said no.

I ended up defaulting on the phone (but this was over months and months). I would try to see if they have changed their policy on the limit though. I'm guessing they will have caught up with the times
