Job offer

Coming to the end of the Work Programme, last day on 20th Feb. Looks like I could be getting a job offer before I have to return to the job centre, and for a lot of the negativity about the Work Programme, its actually down to their help
My provider have a relationship with a major supermarket chain (Asda). Provider were asked to put candidates forward, so advisors sent off applications for those of us interested in the position.
I had the interview on Wednesday, went in for a Work Programme appointment on Friday and Asda had already sent the feedback from the interviews back to my provider. I expected mine to be a list of bad things, but pleasantly surprised to be told that Asda have said out of the candidates put forward I was the best one, and highly likely I will be offered a position when the person responsible for recruitment is back on 10th Feb

It's only 20 hours, but I live with family so no bills to pay, more than JSA and rather be working than going back to all the changes in the job centre
Get another two years of support from Work Programme provider, their in-work support advisor who I was speaking to the other day contacts people in work fortnightly to make sure alls ok and if people need additional help
My own advisor has also said she will keep in touch and contact me to make sure things are ok and said vice versa as I have her contact details should I need them
Also as I will still continue my search for full time work alongside this, my current advisor has said if I go in and want any help with applications and stuff she will help if she can0 -
For all the negativity I've read about some Work Programme providers, I've obviously been lucky with where I got sent to because mine really couldn't have been more helpful
As the job offer won't come through until the 10th Feb with recruitment person being on holiday, advisor still wants me to attend all her job search sessions I've been booked on next couple of weeks, she said if I still apply for positions something else may come up between now and then0 -
So you have job offer for certain?
If you get to the 20th and still no offer then you go to the JC and the WP can then not claim any fee for getting you the job. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I'm not even negative about my work programme provider or advisor, because unlike what I've read about a lot of provders, they have actually helped me a lot. Mkne bend over backwards for everyone that goes in there, even those that mess them about0 -

You are very lucky then as the WP was pointless for me.
New supermarket opening round the corner from us, and they have got a recruitment evening tonight. My brother's provider who are meant to be helping people back into work had no idea this recruitment evening was taking place. He only found out about it because my proivder told me, and I informed him.
But really nothing for the advisors at my place is too much trouble, you can call your advisor any time and they will always do their best to fit you in their schedule
Did you have job search sessions at yours and if so, what were they like ? Heard a lot of providers just stick people on a computer and leave them for two hours
Mine the other day was very helpful. Was about 2 hours long, but my advisor was in their the whole session making sure everyone was ok and helping when needed. She was prepared as well, came to the session with jobs that had either been sent to the provider or that she had come across herself that would be suitable for some of us
She's also always putting me forward for positions and emailing me things to see if I am interested0 -

I did my own thing for an hour and then emails my advisor (one of 12 I had in total) the list of jobs I applied for whilst I was there and then went home.
Had two group sessions where I sat and didn't nothing in one as it was how to set up a LinkedIn profile but I had one already and had had it for 2 years and one for interview technique were I was banned for answering the questions as I knew the answers!! And then I took over the session when a girl asked me if I was out of work as she said I 'dodn't look or speak like you have no job'!!!We’ve had to remove your signature. Congratulations Claire, fingers crossed it does turn into a real offer of employment.
I'm no fan of the Work Program but if they have helped you into work then well done them and good luck to you. This would be one occasion they would actually be deserving of the outcome and sustainment payments they have to keep in contact with you for to claim. (2 yrs in work-support)
