13 b/day food ideas - disco ltd space

Options
As above

I'm having a panic. I have a disco booked for Tuesday evening. It was originally in a large hall with separate area for food, family helping me cater. All good

But they rang today and the venue isn't available due to a leaked roof.

The local church hall is now booked but we have very limited space. Ie no food room and more cramped. I'm now thinking a buffet isn't ideal as would take up too much room.

There is a kitchen so perhaps hotdogs as there is a serving hatch?

I'm really not thinking creatively so can anyone help with food that is easy to eat that wont take space to set out. Even just tables with nibbles dotted around is going to take up much needed chair space.

How about something like chilli and tortilla chips? You can make up a big pan of chilli at home and just reheat it at the venue and then serve it up in disposable bowls with the chips crushed on the top.

That's a really good idea, I can do a vegi version too
  • The chilli or hotdog idea sounds good to me. Or would jacket potatoes work? You could cook them at home and stick in them in the oven at the venue to re-heat? Serve with a few choices of topping like cheese/beans/coleslaw/tuna even with the chilli - would also work out fairly cheap

It's the lack of tables, they need to eat standing up. This could mean its hard with JK spuds. Or maybe it's just me that needs a knife and fork?

You could serve JK Pots like take aways do with those polystyrene boxes with disposable cutlery. People eat them standing up, they're a favourite at our school summer fayre, or what about pizza?

Our idea last summer was a "Wrap Party" - tortillas with lots of different fillings so it was DIY but no crockery or cutlery required ;)

This was followed by bite-size puddings to make for a really easy food option.
  • Sorry for Late update. Went with pizza, veg chilli and dogs. It went down a storm and many thanks to all in my time of panic. With bite size desserts and cupcakes
