    I often get asked if I eat my chickens :eek: When I was looking to re-home Buster the cockerel.....I found a forum that had a buy/sell/swap area and it was all very civilised and furry (or so I thought) I was really concerned about people who buy cockerels for fighting :(:(
    I posted my plea and someone quoted me and posted a recipe for chicken soup :eek: :(:o

    Just watched the news re the flood problem in Somerset :(

    Surely somebody should be doing something more before the next bout of heavy rains hits again?

    What can be done, I fear it is too little, too late, shouting at environment minister is not gonna help, it's hardly the Govt. fault!
    it's a once in a century occurence, yes, we can plan to minimize the future impact but we can all do our bit reduce, reuse, recycle..

    Oh no, don't tell me my post is anti-veggie.:p

    Maybe someone should tell you TM, your plastic chicken is not real. The way I can tell is that her feet are not quite brown enough, although the rest of her does look real, I have to admit..:D

    The second one is a bit of a mystery. 2 out of the following three lightbulbs scanned at 1p, and they also still triggered the 3 for 2 offer. Sel said 50p/ 3 for 2. I cannot tell which ones it was from the receipt, it just says "Lightbulb" in each case. They are all halogen saver candle bulbs, make is TCP.

    18watt = 24w / 210 lumen "fat" bayonet bc 3398
    18 watt =24w/ 210 lumen "thin" bayonet bc 3381
    28 watt = 37 watt/ 370 lumen "fat" screw in bc 3411

    The style of the packaging was like this.

    They didn't have any more so I couldn't go back and find out which ones it was.

    As for the lightbulbs, I can now confirm that bc 3381 and and bc 3398 must have been the ones that were a penny yesterday. I tried a few types of the TCP halogen savers this morning in another store but couldn't find any more.

    Found some more "fat"bayonet halogen saver lightbulbs today, 18 watt = 23 watt / 204 lumen in Cl!ft0n M00r on the very top shelf in boxes. I considered enlisting the help of a very tall chap nearby but he sloped off so I stretched on my tippy toes and got them down. They had an unfamiliar barcode so I wasn't sure, but when DH came back I explained the situation (foreign language = useful) and he made for the ss tills and scanned one (cajones of steel that man! :D). Bingo! He took some through the ss and I took some to a lovely callow youth on a till. :)

    So to add to the

    18watt= 24w / 210 lumen "fat" bayonet bc 3398
    18 watt =24w/ 210 lumen "thin" bayonet bc 3381

    there is now

    18 watt = 23 watt/ 204 lumen "fat" bayonet bc 0151.

    Also on 3 for 2 still, so really two thirds of a penny each. :rotfl:

    There were a number of other TCP bulbs on the top shelf if anyone is passing and they have self scanners there, so probably worth a bit of a rummage.
    Hope is not a strategy.
