Yes this forum is about money saving but what we spend that money on is a personal choice. I think granny would be best remembered by buying something special rather than the temptation of having the money sat into an account where it will end up being dipped into.
I put my dad off paying £600 for a piece of art when the artist was then on regional tv the next month and immediately a 0 was added to painting.
Buy it if you love it enough.

Hi VT i totally agree with you as i have paintngs in my lounge ( some oils from my Granfather god rest him ) and although those ones are only memories for me and the family and not worth well i dunno he done the bat out if hell album cover for his daughter(all his paintings where in oil) and i have the last supper and Kilwinning Abbey to name a couple and i have others of value from know painters but i don't come in here and say all that when we have single mums scraping around to feed the kids that wa s why i was getting angry with the comments about can i afford this pic when i see others in here thanking us for helping to feed the kids.
