Credit Report Help

I just had a look at both equifax and experian credit reports. The experian reports gives DH a rating of 733/1000 and doesn't mention any of the accounts that we're paying reduced payments for (I think there are 4).

The equifax one however doesn't mention them either but has a defaulted account dated march 2005 for £2082 to a company called Hilco Receivibles Europe. I have never heard of this company and have never received any communication from them so don't know what this is about. The funny thing is that amount is similar to the amount to the amount that CSL are trying to claim back.

Is there any way I could contest this through equifax, I couldn't see anything on their website.

Sorry, a bit confused here - have you checked both your credit reports or just your husbands? Are the missing accounts in your name or are they joint accounts? They may just appear on your credit report if they're not joint accounts.

As for the company you've never heard of, call equifax to see if you can find out more info. It may be a holding name for a company you're dealing with and know by a different name (like CSL, not sure who they are?). Call equifax and tell them you've never heard of this company and you want more information. Have you googled the company name to see if you can find out more about them that way? Before you start a dispute process you need to be absolutely sure you don't owe the money, so check them out as much as you can first.

I'd definitely call equifax though and ask them for more info.

    Annie,

The debt has probably been sold on. Some companies use Experian, some Equifax, so debts may not appear on both.

As climbgirl suggests, I think you should contact Equifax for more information.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Isn't there also a third company that does credit reports. My preggy brain fails me at the moment and I can't remember what it's called. Some one will know I'm sure.

There is indeed a third company as I discovered via this website. It is called callcredit.

Apologies but I cannot find the link to the thread I found it on, I am hopelessly lost!
