So someone signs up with a DMC and they get low payments for a few debts (3 creditors, £12K, £2K and £1K)
after 6 months a family member offers to pay these debts off...
should he (the debtor)
a) Pay the creditors direct and sack (in effect) the DMC
b) Get the DMC to pay the debts in full
Will the DMC give in and walk away for free?

Sack the DMP company (they can't stop you doing this, just put it in writing that you don't want them involved any more) carry on making the low payments to the creditors.
After another couple of months write to the creditors offering them say 75% as a full & final settlement, explaining that the money is coming from a relative on condition that a F&F is agreed.0
