As title Co-op are doing shoulder of lamb at 3.79kg. I rarely buy lamb as its so expensie but this seems really good, nice and lean too.

    Lamb is overpriced for sure. In the end it's just meat no special heath benefit to it.

    The price reflects the costs of rearing/butchering the animal and what the market has determined people will pay. I don't know why you think meat needs to have some special health benefit to justify the price....most people realise that red meat isn't particularly healthy but it tastes good and people enjoy eating it so they are willing to pay the price.

    Thanks OP - I'll have a look in my local co-op. Slow roasted lamb shoulder in red wine with rosemary and garlic is a favourite in my house :)

    Not sure what point you are making here, yes of course its just meat but are you saying theres no health benefit to eating meat, if so would have to disagree.

    All meat does not taste the same and I particularly like the taste of lamb but usually cannot afford it.
