Filtering Through Emails

How do you guys speed up the way you filter through your emails?

I worry about deleting any before reading them just in case I've won something...

Well I use hotmail for my comping email address, I 've put a filter on so any email with, "Congratulations" "winner" and "won" in the subject title go to a separate folder.. The "comp wins" folder..

I also look through all emails in the main inbox and spam inbox just in case but the majority of my winning emails, (when I do get them) go into that folder :)

I do a search, using the search banner, one for congratulations, one for winner, one for won. Then a quick scan, and of late, it's just select all and delete because I haven't won anything in AGES!
