Excludes Northern Ireland competitions

I have noticed that some competitions exclude Northern Ireland (I'm not complaining although I do think at times it is unfair). Is there a list or post anywhere that lists the competition sites that we can't enter as at times I get bogged down going through the T+C's. I really appreciate the posters who take the time and effort to put this information in their posts.

I would also love to know if there is a list lurking too - I notice a lot of Scotland only comps too and I'm in wor Geordie Land, England!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I'm not aware of a list on here. I used to keep my own, but stopped and now just check the terms, though I agree it is very time consuming!Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

I've asked this before. Was told that there was a list, but it was not available to residents of Northern Ireland...
I think anything to do with Future Competitions/ Future Publishing excludes us as I saw this mentioned on here previously, perhaps someone could confirm or disprove this?
Anyway good luck from the other side of the big smoke0 -
That's the problem - selling the magazines that list the comps;
In NI there has to be a no purchase route and as you have to buy the mag to find the competition it is illegal in NI, entry via a web site is free so legal.
- Under their (NI) legislation, the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985, as amended11, any pay-to-enter promotion is illegal unless it has a genuine free entry route as well.
The definition of payment in Northern Ireland means any payment except the cost of a phone call or first or second class stamp. Therefore advertisers are not able to run promotions where entrants are required to purchase a product at the usual price, as you can in the rest of the UK. Advertisers wishing to run such promotions across the whole of the UK will need therefore either to include a free entry route for residents of Northern Ireland or have a free entry route for all entrants. Alternatively, they could exclude residents of Northern Ireland from entering the promotion completely,
Hope this helpsLife is not all about money - we just believe so :hello:0 -

ETA: I have noticed that a lot of the comps for large appliances like range cookers, fridges etc would mention in the T&Cs that delivery is mainland only. So although the website hosting the comp might not exclude NI all of the time, it is worth checking with bigger prizes.:coffee:0 -

Yes, that is one of my pet hates in comping. "Competition is open to UK residents. Delivery to mainland only."
Which means it isn't open to all UK residents at all! :mad::(Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

Yes, those 2 are the main culprits. Others I can think of are the 3 comps for money which appear in The Sun every Saturday and some HuffPost comps, though that may be changing as the last one I checked did not exclude N.I.Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

Given that the Executive over here couldn't organise a cheese sandwich it'll be good to see something actually being done.0

I wonder if there will be more Scotland only or excludes Scotland if they become independent?:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
