Car Insurance Question

Hi
Probably a silly question but I am just looking to renew my car insurance. My BR was 2009.
Since then, with car insurance, I have always paid monthly and declared the BR and really had no problems apart from the extra cost of paying monthly in the total premium.
This year I may be able to pay the whole lot in one go if I can get a decent quote. So I am wondering, do I still need to declare the BR as by paying annually I wouldn't be taking any credit?
Any advice welcome and hope everyone who remembers me is doing ok, have never forgotten all the help I received and the friends I made on here, seems a long time ago!!

I pay mine of in one lump sum (only choice since currently BR), I have never told them I am BR unless they asked during to quote.
I wonder if I should of told them?0 -
If they ask you must asnwer truthfully. But if they dont ask then its not something you need to inform them of.
But do check the terms and conditions. Does it exclude ex-bankrupts anywhere?
Stick a complaint in if it does. They should have asked.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Hi - I agree with other posters - always check the small print. If you use a comparison site they are too lazy and just ask a blanket 'have you ever been BR' question. I use the compare site without ticking that box - work out who is offering the best deal then go direct to them. My current insurers didn't ask at all on their own website. I have found the quotes for paying up front no different for BR.
I now save so I can pay annually (and earn a little interest on it) - that way I don't have to pay for the credit - a win win! - one of the benefits of no longer being in debt and managing my money well

I checked my car & contents insurance policies before I went BR. Neither of them said I needed to tell them, but I did anyway. They came back straight away & said no problem & no increase in premium. I will always be totally honest if asked.0

I had a really good quote from Zurich. I was upfront and told them I was a discharged BR. It wasn't a problem for them as long as I was paying in a lump sum. (Quote was £220 fully comp with 5 years NCD).0
