I do, don't most people.
I don't have the technical knowledge to know about gas & electrical tariffs.
I have always had quotes on the basis of asking for the cheapest unit price. I have been in the situation of using the professionals in this field
and have a great respect for the work they do.
I have largely avoided the issue of phone tariffs, which I can't begin to get my head round because they start ar £12pm just to yak, by having a PAYG but it may not be the cheapest. Once again I have seen the professionals in their field operate, I had very little idea of what they were doing but iit was effective.
I once tried to check the council tax merely as an exercise because they were part of Inland Revenue I had a reasonable discussion with the valuer who was quite happy to give me all the ins and outs. However, even now I couldn't do what a valuer does.
So in general the answer to your question is no but I muddle through and unless you are multi-talented you will have little more idea about these complex areas than any other layman. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
