Why is it when you are an exisiting customer of Santander they will not publicly advertise mortgage rates?
Shouldn't these rates be across the board for everyone?

You get ripped off, I had to move to halifax to get a deal the same as new customers0

Santander are using this as a way of reviewing their mortgage book. Santander acquired Abbey National and Alliance & Leicester during the boom years. Longer term they have a stated aim of increasing SME business lending and reducing their mortgage exposure.0

Perhaps someone should try doing a change.org campaign to pressure them into advertising their rates! Any takers with guts

Or popping in to a branch?
Or using their personalised online service?

I agree, it would be useful although they appear to be on a case to case basis.
As suggested they are doing it to review their mortgage book and for people who cannot move lenders (change in circumstances and/or potential interest only) they are making more out of on 4.74% SVRI am a Mortgage Broker

Thanks for the advice. Yes I have called them. Everytime you call you have to give a whole set of questions and be kept on the phone for at least 5-10 mins before you get any rates. It would be far easier if rates were made public through their website to save having to keep phoning.0

I wish they were still Alliance & Leicester.
After an hour on the phone to a child yesterday and getting little help or advice. It was clearly all scripted any response given and no real understanding of what was actually being talked about.
It's quite soul destroying and still no real answers or suggestions on best way forward.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0 -
I completely agree. Alliance and Leicester were so much better.0

Interesting. When I inquired about a mortgage there was a hint that I would have got a better rate if I were their existing customer.0
