My wife has a Samsung Galaxy fit phone and when she plugs in the charger it say's it full after 10 -15 minute then only lasts an hour. I got a 'new' battery off ebay which does exactly the same thing. Have I been sold a duff battery or could there a problem with the phone.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Could be the phone or battery...
Is the phone worth enough to warrant buying another (good quality) battery to try it out?Would you say that to a stranger's face in the street? No? Then why type it on a forum?0 -
Or it could be the charger.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

cant speak for that model, but check what systems / apps are updating in the background- switch off location, email 'refresh' manually, etc..
doing this made my windows phone last 20-30% longer.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
If its an android phone there will be a config file that monitors the battery so the operating system can estimate the amount of charge left. It could be that this file needs to reset itself after the new battery has been put in.
You could try leaving the phone to cometely run out (wait till it switches itself off) then leave it plugged in for a while even after the phone has indicated the charge is complete - I'd suggest leaving it over night. Otherwise a full factory reset might be the answer.0 -
Also, ensure you're using the original charger and cable. Sounds silly, but they allow for far higher charging current and may help the phone 'recover' if you're using lower power charging in conjunction with the above suggestions0

If you leave it plugged in for a lot longer than 15 minutes - say 3 hours, then how long does it last?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

It's not the charger we have loads of them it's just the usb style one and they all work on other phones. I can't find a battery monitor app on there or a reset for that matter. She's gone out so I'll have a fiddle with it later. Thanks for the replies.Nothing to see here, move along.0
