What about the morphy Richards intellichef? Seems to have good reviews and is around £60 on amazon. The blurb:

"Use it to slow-cook casseroles and curries, to steam fish and vegetables, to make stir fries and to braise various cuts of meat. Intellichef also creates deep fried dishes like chips and onion rings, boils ingredients such as rice, pasta and potatoes, grills meat until it is tender and fast-stews for risottos and soups. With a large capacity cooking pot Intellichef 8 in 1 Multicooker can serve up a complete meal for up to four people, or for creating a side dish such as steamed vegetables for up to eight people."

I've got my eye on this one for when my old Intellichef dies... (the original Intellichef is a totally different machine to the new one, not sure whey they called them they same...).
I like the fact that this one has a timer, so I can leave it and forget...

Not sure if you need a hob, but if so I bought this last year http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007Y5QB8E/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, I've had it nearly a year now and it works fine, and only cost me £18.

  • You might like to check out the Ninja 3 in 1 Cooking System. Sounds similar to the Intellichef mentioned above. It will fulfill all frying needs from a single egg to a stirfry for a family. Non stick which makes cleaning a breeze. It switches from steam oven to slow cooker to stovetop with the turn of a dial. Also has a buffet setting which keeps food warm for hours and a timer so you can set it and forget it. You can cook a complete meal by layering for instance rice in bottom, fish and veg in basket on top. Easily fits a full chicken or big piece of roast. Cooks so fast it takes me by surprise and cakes are supposed to be light as air but not tried baking yet. I have a lot of kitchen appliances but this is definitely my favourite purchase ever!

Looks very interesting. The UK price is too high though, it's much cheaper in USA, the price will go down hopefully, it normally does.

PS lots of reviews on amazon.com, worth checking them out. http://www.amazon.com/Ninja-MC701-Cooker-Cooking-System/dp/B0093MRWJS/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1390988881&sr=1-1&keywords=ninja+cooker

Looks good, would mean throwing away my pans though ... not such a bad thing when all said and done!

I need something with an oven combined, but had considered one of these and it's half of what the mini oven would be like.

Like the look of that, looks very similar to the Intellichef and probably more suited to what I need.
