Need more information - what do you wish to study, what qualifications do you have to date?0

As a above, you need to be specific.

Hi My wife became a "mature student" 2 years ago doing a degree in construction management, she is hoping to become a site manager.
She is now 39 and in her third year which is a placement year. Her degree is a sandwich course.
Luckily she started before the uni fees sky rocketed, otherwise we could never of afforded it! She had a loan that pays for the fees and goes straight to the uni plus a grant (as we are low income) which was means tested and the amount related to our circumstances and is supposed to help pay towards child care, books travel etc.
To work out what you get go to the direct.gov website and there is a link there to a calculator.0 -

Some universities provide bursaries specifically for mature students, eg this one from City University London

Alternatively you could do it part time/ in your spare time & keep working0 -
Sorry guys, im new to the forum. My post is i am 30 years old, been accepted to go to college which is up in shetland, its a 3 year course training as a sea cadet. I have a mortgage which is £500.00 per month, i have no dependents. Sponsor will pay approx £170.00 per wk which pays for accom, uniform, books etc. My question is are there grants or bursaries available to me to help with my finances? Thank you smithy999. I was a H.G.V driver did this job for 10 years. Yes i will need accommodation as the college is not in my home town £70 per week, that's staying in the halls (no other accom available). I have no other qualifications, only trucking. Just needed to know if i was entitled to any financial help.0
