i'm from Belarus but buy Polish food as I like it and it reminds me of home. sliced sausages (nice meaty flavour), kefir (smth I was drinking since I was a baby and loving it), wafers, crisps ( a bit expensive), winiary mayo(nice and thick as I like it),kucharek seasoning is great for cooking ( I add it to everything) ,mini tyrolska (my 3 y o loves it reminds me chopped pork just not as greasy) , pate sausage (my old style in-laws who r Scottish and don't like foreign food loved it), twarog (is like pressed cottage cheese), hochland triangle cheese (dif flavours-really nice, soft, spreadable)
pricewise -- not always cheap, hardly any offers like B1G1F. Would recommend to try,

Thank you for your advice :) I will look for these products

It must be the Wedel brand you are referring to! They really are delicious and, if you are ever in Krakow, you must visit the Wedel Chocolate Lounge - you'll think you are in heaven!
I remember I've bought some unusual flavours at Lidls as well

If you're ever in a shop that sells Greek/Turkish foods, then I can highly recommend Biscrem (sp?) biscuits. They're like a little shortbready biscuit with a chocolate filling, and my OH loves them. I also like Cin (I think) biscuits, the orange flavour - they're a thick shortbready base with orange jelly and chocolate vermacelli. Shame they're so hard to find :(

i like gerkins and i've found tescos sell large jars of Dawtona Dill cucumbers 900g in the polish section. they frequently have them on offer for 2for£2 so £1 a jar which is far better value plus i think they are tastier than regular brand gerkins

If it's just to reheat the Pierogis melt some butter and saut! the onions, then toss in the dumplings and fry until they are golden. Serve them with sour cream and some raw onion and crispy fried, broken up bacon.

It's pretty common to heat up the sourkraut and slice up some kielbasa sausage with it and serve with the pierogi.

I live in a an area where 1000s of Ukranians migrated to in the 1890s and they've left their mark on the areas eating habits.

Pierogis are usually filled with potato and onion, potato and cheese or potato and bacon. Sometimes you'll get them filled with all three. I've even had "dessert" versions where they are filled with apple or cherry pie filling.

They look very nice - I wondered if they should be warmed in some kind of sauce as they look a bit like ravioli or tortellini, or do you just have them dry?

I've seen a few tubs of desserts in the fridges too - has anyone tried them?

I am Oriental (Far East Asian :)) and I rarely buy any ethnical food stuff from Supermaket aisle, they are usually too expansive compare to most Oriental shop/supermarket. Quality-wise, they are not bad at all, pretty bog-standard range I'd say. HTH.

What are the desert ones like and what do you eat them with? I was in Morrison's last week and they have a freezer area with food I'd not seen before and I picked these up and then wasn't sure about them as a dessert so put them back.

I did pick up a pack of 100% ground ginger that was only 69p from the freezer - Excellent value.
