CCJ's after 6 years

Options
I understand that CCJ's disappear after 6 years. If I then apply for a mortgage does it mean that no one will ever know I had CCJ's.

In general I start with a clear file ??

Also, what if i'm still paying off the original default amount - what happens - does it still come off my file ?

Will anyone know about it ??

Any help - thanks in advance.

A mortgage lender only sees a current snapshot of your credit file.

If you have CCJs and the judgement was more than 6years ago then they won't be able to see it exists.

The credit account entry on your credit file (and the default) fall off your file 6years after the default date (as shown on file).

That said if you are still paying off a debt (CCJ or otherwise) then you should declare this on a mortgage application - you don't need to say its a CCJ or a defaulted debt, just that its a debt that you pay £x per month to.
