Council Tax Written Off!

Hi
I declared BR last month. I decided not to wait for a Liability Order or Arrears Notice for this year's CT (relating to my old property which is awaiting repossession), as I'd delayed BR long enough…
I thought that this year's CT would therefore not be a provable debt in bankruptcy, but put it on my list of creditors anyway.
I showed the Council my BR Order and asked them to note it on their records.
Just after BR I got a Final Demand from the Council for my CT, and then 2 weeks ago I received a court summons. Even though I was expecting this, it had a massive impact on me, and so my hubby phoned the council to see if anything could be done.
Well, they said not to worry. They hadn't seen the note saying I was BR…
Then on Friday last week I received another bill (a green one, not a red one!) showing a nil balance and confirming they'd written off the full amount!
Wow. I'd at least expected to have to pay from after my BR until my house is repossessed.
Have they done this under the BR rules (and did I get the wrong end of the stick when researching this?) or have they just chucked it in as I have no assets that they can sell?
Confused but very happy!
