TV Choice giveaways

Options
Hi all I am new to this and just dipping my toe in to comping I have spent 30 mins the past 2 days entering the TV choice giveaways where you just basically type in a word and hit send are these worth doing? Has anyone won anything from there or am I wasting my time there? I don't know if this is the right forum to be asking this if not sorry can you point me in the right direction please :-) Any pointers at where I should start on my new found hobby?

Thanks

Kelly

People do win the prizes and you cannot if you don't make at least one entry

    but

The same prizes can be offered over 6 or more different websites, with a daily entry and in some cases competitions open for 2+ months. So you can end up with over 500 entries to win one prize, up to you if you think it's worth it or not.

I'd rather have entries into 500 different competitions.

A few Instant win competitions are a good place to start

Like mjm, I'd rather enter different comps than the same one multiple times.

I enter the daily mag wins once. I believe that if I'm fated to win, I will. :D

(Some of the 'click to wins', which I think is what you're talking about, I enter multiple times, as I use this as a 'time filler' whilst waiting for new comps to appear on the Comps Board).

There are 6 mags that run click to wins, most of them with the same set of prizes... these comps are relatively new, think they only appeared in about October last year... during that time I think I've seen up to about half a dozen winners posting on IWIWIW which is a bit less than the standard mag dailies, however it shows that people do win them. I haven't had any luck yet but keep plugging away!

    Here is what I do:

    1) My dailies

This is my own prepared list of daily instant comps and other daily entries that I compile into a Word document. I add to them when I find one on the main board. These are my highest comping priority. On busy days, I might only do these.

    2) Main board - order of last post

I work my way from wherever I finished last time to the top of the board. Although until you've found your feet here, it's probably a good idea to not do those at the very top of the board. This allows time for more experience compers to comment on them. Always scroll down on comp posts to check for comments.

This is my second priority, and I often do what I can here, and stop for the day.

    3) Main board - order of end date

When I feel like I am playing catchup, I will do comps ending today and tomorrow. It usually doesn't take long at all, because I will have already done or red ex-ed most of them. I nearly always do this on a Friday, to account for 'Friday tweets'. There are a lot of one-day Twitter comps added on Fridays.

    4) Magazine Dailies

When I have time I will do these. I have my own compiled list of the ones I want to do. I add to this list as I go through the main board.

    5) Click to win

It's very rare that I have time for these, but I have the links to each click to win mag, saved in my comping document. I do them just occasionally. They have a low priority because they take a long time to do, and I think the odds of winning are quite small.

    6) Magazine Daily Instants

I don't think these are worth doing. I won't say I never do them, but I might go months without doing one. I think the odds of winning are very remote.
