Global work and travel - deposit con

My son has been looking to work abroad prior to going to Uni. The above company, Global work and travel, advertise that for £1000 they can organize jobs abroad and associated travel. A deposit of £295 is first required and the completion of an e-mail registration form/contract.
Unfortunately my son only checked out the Youtube video ads instead of the written reviews. On reading the reviews people were warning to avoid this company. Reading the electronic contract it stated that deposits would be lost if cancelled. He cancelled within minutes and also cancelled his bank cards.
Despite what the contracts says is there any sort of cooling off period that would allow a full refund? (Surprise the company above are not easy to get hold of, despite stating they would get back in touch!)
Can anyone help?
