Hi sorry to hear about your current situation. We to have a loan with picture and has gone ti Idem I am currently looking into the legal site of how it was sold to Idem as picture is named on the land registry for the loan. Idem i have found out are a debt collection agency and i believe there has to be a (Deed of assignment) for it to be changed into there name it would be worth spending £20 to send an SAR request to picture for all your information they hold.
I have valuable information from several websites such as Get out of debt free/ Legalbeagles and consumer action group
Have a Good look at these sites and fill yourself with knowledge you will be more at ease in knowing how to go forward please don't let these people get you down there are many stuck in the same situation with (Cash cow HIGH % rates)0 -
Hi husbandscarer
Best is not to speak to the debt collection agency on the telephone at all. If they call ask them to write to you and hang up.
When you sell the house is it likely to cover the outstanding mortgage and this secured loan? Have you had any advice from one of the debt advice charities at all?
I would write to them and set out how much you can afford to pay towards the debt a month currently (even if it is just a token payment) and explain that your house is currently on the market.
I would also send the text from the telephone harrasment letter to ask for all future communication to be in writing. see here - Harassment by telephoneA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Send them a complaint, in writing, complaining that they are not treating you fairly as over the OFT debt collection guidelines.

They should not be asking you to pay more than you can reasonably afford, and if on benefits, that will be minimal.
As Tixy says, send off that telephone letter too.:beer:0 -
Thanks all good advice0
