Car Any Advice Please

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post.
I have spoken to National debt line today who have advised me that bankruptcy is a valid option for me.
The lady that i spoke to assured me that they will not legally be able to take my partners car as all the debts are in my name, and the car belongs to him.
I do not drive at present, but i still can not help worrying about maybe they will.
Any advice on this would be really appreciated.
thanks in advance
lisa

Ditto - it's a bit like them taking your parent's house, or brother's Andy Warhol (although, if he's got one of those, he shuod have sold it last week at Christie's, taken the 6 million and given you enough to pay off your debts) or sister's race horse.

Its not yours. The debts are yours. Just because someone fell in love with you, that does not mean they are liable for thngs you may have gone a bit wonky on (another eg, if you'd stabbed someone, they wouldn't send your partner to prison instead, would they? (and before anyone panics, you don't go to prison for BR - something I was stressing over, but realised I was so so wrong on that one :D ).

    Hi,
thanks,so even though we live together, and it is his car they can not touch it,when filling in the forms of expenditure would i fill it in as a joint income and put things like petrol expenses, car tax etc on it or would i just put my own income details on the form, sorry it is a little difficult as i say as we are a couple but not married but have 3 children and all the debts are in my name alone.
    thanks
