help please with my panasonic breadmaker broken

Options
heeelp please

I've just tried to make pizza dough in my panasonic and it doesn't work  . Any ideas anyone? The on/off button works but none of the buttons that change the programme:confused:, worked fine yesterday. The kids are gutted, they love pizza. Has this happened to anyone else and if so was it expensive to fix?

Thanks loads

Kerry

Not sure. We have a Panasonic, and I vaguely remember it getting confused once. Turning it of and back didn't seem to work, but after leaving it off for 10 mins or so I think it then started up OK. Could it have got damp? There may be a bit of trouble shooting at the back of the manual ~ I'm not at home so can't check.

Thanks for that. There is a trouble shooting bit at the back of the manual but nothing helpful for me. Its been turned off for a while now and have just tried it again, but still kaput. The kids had to have McDonalds for tea (DD needed to be at Brownies and no time to cook anything else) and they moaned about not having home made pizza :rotfl: am so proud.

Pizza isn't all that hard to do by hand, did it last night myself:

Take a packet of dried yeast and pop it in 175ml water with a teaspoon of sugar in, cover it with a teatowel and leave it for 15 mins.

Put 500g plain flour in a bowl with a pinch of salt. When the yeast is done add that in and mix well. Then add olive oil, bit by bit, till you get a nice smooth dough. Turn it onto the worktop and knead it for a minute or two. Pop it back in the bowl, cover with a damp teatowel and wait 1/2 an hour to an hour.

Smish the dough down, and you're ready to roll.

The actual time it takes doing this is less time than it used to take me washing my breadmaker pan and hoisting it down from the cupboard... so I got rid of the breadmaker!!

(Same recipe works well for breadsticks, and a kind of ciabbatta-ish loaf)

Thanks for that, didn't realise it was that easy. Breadmaker is still kaput, have tried it another couple of times but no luck. Have to try to get it fixed, didn't realise how much I relied on it before it was gone:o

Is there a helpline listed in the manual or online, or maybe you could e mail them? Touch wood, mine is still working after a year but I must admit I don't use it as much as I should.

No number listed in the manual. Had a look at the website and you can put in your appliance and post code and they give you the address of the nearest repairer so am going to give it a go. Mine is also about 12 months old but I have used it loads anyone got any idea how long their life is, surely it must be longer than a year:confused: .

I have had my panny for 4 years and its still going strong, its very unusual for one to go wrong. I use mine at least 3 times a week mostly for maing bread although I have used it for dough quite a bit too......hope you get it fixed soon.
