Official receiver interview and mobile contract query

Hi all

Well I took the plunge on Thursday and declared myself bankrupt. Wasn't as bad as I thought but bad enough lol. I have my official receiver interview on Thursday and have a couple of questions I could do with some help with.

1. I closed my halifax bank account on the Wednesday before bankruptcy on Thursday as I had transferred everything over to co-op as they said I could keep my account with them. Will the OR want to see anything relating to the closed halifax account? I used this as my main account up until bankruptcy. If the OR needs any info etc how would I get it from Halifax with the account being closed?

2. In October 2013 I got married just at the local registry office, my dad pays money into my daughters savings account monthly and told us to use £1000 to book a honeymoon abroad for the three of us, this is shown on my bank transfers - will the OR query it? My dad is unaware of my bankruptcy as it would break his heart and possibly our relationship!!!!! Would the OR want to contact him?

3. My mobile phone contract is in my husbands name would the OR still want the contract cancelled? And would they query payments out of bank that are in husbands name?

4. My family (parents and brother) have accounts with the same bank as me, would the bank inform them of my bankruptcy?

Sorry for the questions just a little overwhelmed by it all.

    1. They may request statements. You can only give the OR are what you have, and are not expected to pay for or obtain them if you don't have them. The OR can request direct from the bank any that you cannot easily provide.

    2. They may query it. I would guess it unlikely that they would need to contact him if you explain, but I wouldn't like to rule it our completely.

    3. No, if in his name the contract is not in the OR's power to cancel and is not their business. They may query the payments, but your explanation is reasonable.

    4. No reason why they should, and could well be a breach of data protection law if they did without a legal reason for doing so.
