Bra fitting.

I went for a bra fitting at Bravissimo a couple of weeks ago. Haven't really worn the new bra yet, however, I'm finding that when I do wear it, it leaves slight marks across my back & can feel a bit tight.
Should I go back and talk to them about it, or is this normal?

My bra leaves a slight mark, so do many of my socks, tights, leggings, knickers... they all need to be tight enough to hold themselves up, and a bra needs to support the bust too.
I did have a bra fitting once which came out with a massively tight bra, but would not describe the mark it left as slight. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

It's pretty much a given that a bra will feel tight across the back if you go to Bravissimo and you've been buying from M&S or another chain and estimating your size till now.
That said if you're not happy go back and see them and see if they still think they gave you the right fitting.
When I first went to Bravissimo I was wearing a 40C I came out wearing a 36E. When my daughter (after years of refusing) went she came out a 30 EE pretty different from the 34B that she usually got sold and routinely fell out of.
It does take a bit of getting used to, but it's not supposed to be a punishment ! So if you're unhappy go back and have a word.0 -
last time I got measured at bravissimo I was wearing the wrong size bra. I was wearing a 36 dd and walked out the shop with a 36 ff. I needed to get remeasured as I have lost weight, so now wearing a 32g. I guess a new size is going to feel different.
I do need to buy a couple more, so will pop in the store and ask them to check whether the new size is defo the true size.0 -
I went in one size & came out Quite Another at Bravissimo - they were wonderful & I'm sure will set your mind at rest.
I hadn't worn a wired bra before & my word, it makes a surprising difference.
And with the remarkable improvement it seems to have given my negotiating skills, a slight mark across the back is absolutely worth it...0 -
I find Bravissimo do fit the bras quite tightly around the rib-cage, but if it feels tighter than acceptable or if you're not comfortable wearing it do go back and talk to them. Their customer service is usually very good. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

In my experience Bravissimo are very good about making sure you're OK with the fit. I went to get measured there about six months ago and the size they originally put me in was very tight and felt quite restrictive, so they tried the next one up and that was fine. I'd go back and check with them and see what they say; hopefully they should let you change it."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I went to a bra fitting once - never again. It was in M&S. I asked the lady and she said to follow her into their room. Problem was one of the other shop assistants from the other side of the store shouted for some help and the assistant I was with shouted her reply back "I am busy at the moment, just taking this lady for a bra fitting":eek::eek: The store was quite full, talk about wanting the ground to swallow me up lol.
Sorry slightly OT but thought I would share.0 -
Bravissimo are better fitters than the department stores, and if you haven't used them before and they have given you a completely different size it will take some getting used to.
However, I don't think they are all they are cracked up to be, I have had a number of very uncomfortable bras they have supposedly fitted me with.
I'm guessing they would be quite good if you took it back, I should have and never bothered. Or maybe wear it to go there and get them to check the fit and then exchange it for another size.
If you want a dream fitting bra you can do no better than go to Rigby & Peller - not very MSE tho.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Bravissimo are wonderful if you're a larger boobed lady! The assistant I saw stated that they will always fit bras a little tightly as they loosen off with wear and washing.
iammumtoone, why so embarrassed? It's just underwear!

I must be honest if I went in there now and the same thing happened I probably wouldn't be embarrassed (I have had a child since nothing can compare to that on the embarrassment stakes!). I was young at the time and I just remember feeling that everyone in the store (including males) was looking at me (sure they weren't but it felt like that to me).0
