Where can I sell idle CPU time?

Options
With my new computer whenever I'm running games on it or doing anything else I'm only using around 30% of the CPU and 27% of the RAM. I was wondering if there was anywhere that I'm able to sell my processing power? Even if it's a small amount it all adds up over time.

Thanks.

I understand that but I was hoping that someone on here would have some experience and tips in this area.

There are few, if any, viable solutions left to make any meaningful amount of money from spare CPU time today. The situation was different a couple of years ago, when there was not so many billions of people around the world with available CPU time. You can find a handful (or less) of sites where you can make money by allowing them to use your broadband bandwidth for various things, and perhaps one or two where you get paid for CPU time - but then the criteria tend to mean that you only get called upon once in a while, making perhaps a few pence per year.

The most viable today is Bitcoin mining, but even that is pointless today if all you have is a single PC with average CPU and GPU power. You really need specialised rigs set up to make any meaningful amount (more than pennies). This article is useful...
When bitcoins first blinked into existence, they could be mined by a few spare computers, just left to crank away. Now that there are so many more bitcoins in circulation, those computers can barely mine a fragment of a bitcoin in anything resembling a reasonable amount of time.
Essentially, for the gain to outweigh the electricity cost, you need to set up equipment specifically targeted at mining Bitcoins. (I know this is a sweeping statement but I feel it is more or less true; no doubt some Bitcoin experts will weigh in.)

I donate my spare CPU capacity to scientific projects via BOINC.

just add all power saving features and save cash that way , if your pcs on quite a lot them its worth it
  • Have you tried running Windows update, updated drivers, BIOS as well as running a full AV / spyware scan to ensure there are no "gremlin" apps running in the background?
  • you can sell your idle cpu time at ziddu(dot)com .. Download 'Ziddu Pay' App. That application stays on your computer and it won't disturb your work. Stay more time and earn more!! :)
