Halifax mortgage - how do they verify employment (apart from payslips etc)

Hi there
I can supply my April 2013 p60 and the 3 payslips they require. My question is, do they verify employment any further than this? I'm concerned because my company are really slow at these things. I've worked there for 6 months. If they do contact them (I've heard they do, and they don't) what questions will they ask? Is it just a letter with 'Please confirm X's salary and start date'? And how many times throughout the process do they contact your employer? I've heard twice?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

They might approach the employer if they had issues with the payslips and p60. For example amount on the p60 indicated a income at variance with what was shown on the payslips, or if the payslips didn't confirm the income that your had declared
Typically they'd fax the employer, asking for confirmation of the basic salary / wage, and confirmation of overtime and allowances etc
So look at your payslips and p60 - if the income quoted on them tie up and confirm what you said you earned, then that's all they needEarly retired - 18th December 2014

myn were not contacted at allDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thank you everyone for all the replies!
My p60 is from when I was earning a lot less, only around 3k a year as I was at college then and it was with a previous employer. After I left in May 13', my earnings obviously went up as I entered full time work, then even more so with my new job in Aug 13' (around 12k-14k). Is it worth submitting more than the 3 required payslips or do you think they'll be happy with the difference from p60 to recent payslips?
My other concern is that I had a bit of a wobble at work where by I handed my notice in, then my manager asked me to withdraw it so we did, then we've spoken about lowering my contract, but haven't made up my mind yet (I'm likely to stay full time but have yet to confirm this as my manager is off for 2 weeks). So, if they were to contact them - would there be any questions which could cause this to arise? Or is it always just the basic -is this person employed with you, how much do they earn, are they full time employment?
Thanks again for all your responses (:0 -
It's been nearly 5 years since I left the Halifax, but I'm pretty sure the letter asked for 'any other information', so it's possible that the situation regarding your hours could be mentioned, if it's not fully resolved. Perhaps you need to tell HR that you are going to stay full time, as quickly as you can, just in caseEarly retired - 18th December 2014
