Interviews and leaving last job

Hi all.
I posted last year about having an interview with a company I worked for previously. Anyway I got the job and found out the manager was stealing money, i reported it and was basically told "so what?". I left shortly after incase I was blamed for the money going missing and found out before christmas the manager was sacked for theft and various other things.
After nearly 5 months of being unemployed and god knows how many job applications i've finally got a couple of interviews booked for this week. The job centre and work programme both know why I left the job but told me not to put it on my CV or mention it since it was only for a few weeks, so my CV has the last job being at a company where I worked for almost 4 years.
What should I say when they ask why I left?

You had a job lined up which fell through and you were unable to rescind your notice?
Or be truthful.0 -
The first one is what i've said at interviews before and seemed believable. I've also thought about being truthful, one of the jobs i'm being interviewed for I really want so i'm thinking telling the truth would be best!0

"I caught the boss stealing and nobody cared so I quit for fear of being blamed". At worst it sounds like a lie, at best it sounds like you walk away when there's conflict which isn't a good trait in a lot of businesses. I wouldn't bother mentioning it, you can't stand to gain anything from a job of a few weeks being on your cv.0
