I have a new Topshop jumper that is very soft and fluffy and a beautiful sky blue but is short in the body. It's 78% nylon and 22% acrylic. Is it possible to make it longer somehow?

You could try 'blocking' have a look on knitting sites to see how to do it. Will be interested to see if it works.0

A lot of jumpers in topshop at the moment are short in the body its just the fashion, being tall myself I have this problem even with normal jumpers. I would wear a fitted vest top in say navy or red and wear it underneath tucked into your jeans, that way making a feature of the jumper being short.
Alternatively when the jumper is wet hang it over the bath with some clips along the bottom and attach something weighty to each clip with string. I should say I've never tried this so dont blame me if it goes wrong!

Yes, it could all go wrong, but that's the risk!
I'd try washing it and while wet take it out and stretch it out over / along something like a wooden / metal dining room chair. Keep checking it and pulling the fabric down - until it dries.
When just damp iron it gently and as you go keep pulling it length-wise. Be careful to not tear or over stress the wool.
By the time you've done that you'll likely hate the shape of it. Maybe better sticking to the suggestions above and layer it.0 -
Probably too much for one Topshop jumper but when I lived in Shetland it was usual to see these propped up against people's houses;
They are for drying Shetland knitted jumpers (ganzies!) so they didn't lose their shape but could also be used to stretch jumpers. Unfortunately I was a very tight knitter so usually had to do this to make mine wearable.0 -
I've often stretched school jumpers when wet and they do stretch so worth a go x:A :j0

I remember watching my sister trying to stretch a very expensive Benneton cardigan back to full size. It had been tumble dried too hot and come out just about big enough for toddler.
She ripped it in half.
Tears followed.0 -
Somebody once told me that you can stretch wool by spraying it with diluted hair conditioner, then gently pulling it into shape. No idea if it works - or if it would work on man-made fibres - but if the jumper is only fit for the bin now, it might be worth a go!0
