I had a lovely little windfall in Sainsburys the other day - went to pay at the self-service till and there was a bundle of vouchers and receipts a previous shopper had left. Amongst them was a Brand Match voucher for £4.47!!! Amazing. I'd never have thought to look if I hadn't seen people on here talking about roadkill
I used the voucher on my weekly shop yesterday and got another Brand Match voucher for £2.40 in return. I can't think what I bought to get so much back, usually I only get pennies, but I'm happy0 -
hi pickle me, you're doing so well! I've had one of those fed up with it all days (and I'm only 1 week in:o) so it's been lovely to read your diary and see your ups and downs and how you've persevered and got below 4 figures, I hope I can be following on behind you!:AA/give up smoking (done)0

Aww, thanks lobby. I actually find it helpful to go back and read some of my fed up entries - reminds me how rubbish I felt and then I can be happy that I've moved on from that point
I still get the fed up days but it's definitely easier than it was.
So my tip would be, when you have a bad day, write about it! It's good to get it out of your system. I hope you have a better day tomorrow
Well, I got my required points on Swagbucks so once the bonus is credited I'll be able to get my £15 voucher :T I still don't exactly love Swagbucks but I might stick with it, now I've figured out which bits are relatively easy in terms of earning SBs, and what to avoid.0 -
I love getting or finding vouchers!
Glad to hear your luck is improvingKeep up the good work. You're doing great, you're nearly under 9k of debt left now
I felt fed up too when payday came and went and all the money was already allocated to debt... but I'm focusing on how good it will feel when that is paid off... Then there will be celebrations indeed

Thank you Bee
I'm planning my shopping trip for a week on Monday and I'm really looking forward to it. But I've been doing lots of research online - I haven't been clothes shopping for so long I need to get my eye in :rotfl: And I've been struggling to find things I really want. I think I've got out of the habit of shopping and now that I have money in my bank account I'm feeling a bit reluctant to let it go!
But I've been looking at various websites I thought might have the sort of beach holiday clothes I'd like - Monsoon, Dorothy Perkins, New Look - without much success. If I'm going to spend my precious 'me' money then it's got to be something fab (or something extremely cheap, or even better something fab and extremely cheap :rotfl:)
This evening I looked at the White Stuff website and saw quite a few things I liked, but it's not cheap. I could justify maybe one dress (£50-60) and that would be it. In my past life, pre-kids when I was earning a full-time wage, I wouldn't have thought twice about that but right now that is a huge amount of money to spend on one item of clothing.
Then I thought I'd have a browse of White Stuff things on Ebay - and there was a perfect dress, linen, loose fit, gorgeous colour. I'm very cautious about buying clothes on Ebay as obviously if it's an auction you can't return it, so I only buy things from labels I know suit me, and I have to be very confident that the item will suit too. This dress ticked the boxes and had ten minutes left to go ... long story short I won it for just over a tenner including postage and I am delighted :j Don't you love it when Ebay comes through like that?
(Hopefully I won't be posting here in a week that the dress was awful and didn't suit me at all - I'll update later!)0 -
The dress arrived today and I love it. It really suits me and I feel so pretty in it
And all for a tenner! Result. Unfortunately my success winning the dress made me a bit trigger-happy and I bought a skirt and another dress on Ebay a few days later; the skirt also arrived today and it's a fail. You win some, you lose some - this one was just over a tenner and hopefully at some point I'll be able to put it back on Ebay and recoup some of my losses.
Hoping dress no.2 is a win ... but I'm so chuffed with dress no.1. I can't wait to wear it on a warm tropical evening walking along the beach ...0 -
Time to update my signature. Here's June's, preserved for posterity:
LBM October 2013: 3 credit cards £8306.60 / £3280.83 / £3605.69 Total £15193.12
June 2014: £3031.89 / £2965.54 / £3219.69 Total £9217.12
My husband mentioned last month that he was going to pay off the pennies on each card to get them down to nice round numbers - something that's been bugging me since we started, I like things to be neat! He hasn't done it yet, I must remind him ...0 -
another £850 gone only 10 months to go at that rate! well done!!!!debt free 1st October 20160

Thanks eco farmer
It's likely to be 11 more months as we're going to cut back our credit card payments in December to give us money for Christmas presents and other festive expenses. That still has all the debt paid off before the final 0% deal runs out so I'm happy with that!
Only three more payments due on CC1, now that's exciting0 -
The 2nd dress I bought on ebay is quite nice, not bad for £20 (in excellent condition, lovely heavy linen) but I don't think I'd have bought it if I'd been able to try it on beforehand - it looks ok but isn't perfect on me. I'm a bit cross with myself for getting carried away bidding - I was so happy to win the 1st dress but I should have stopped there! However it has finally made me list some of my own things to sell this evening so hopefully I can make back a bit of the money I spent.
I've been going through my cupboards turning out old clothes and in addition to finding things to sell, I've come across a few things I had forgotten I owned and can take on holiday, which is rather pleasingI also found my husband's linen trousers, which he'd forgotten he had - he was planning to get a new pair from Next so I've saved him £35
I went through my children's cupboards as well - my younger daughter particularly has a ridiculous number of clothes (hand-me-downs from her elder sister and also her cousin) and in typical 3-year-old fashion is extremely choosy about what she will and will not wear. Amongst the items she refuses to wear are a number of Monsoon and Boden clothes which should make some money on Ebay, so that's my next lot of listings taken care of
Currently watching the football - well, barely watching it to be honest as I have no interest in football however my husband got Argentina in his work sweepstake, so I'm rooting for the blues in the hope that he wins £50! If they lose he still takes home £20 which will be a nice takeaway for us so it's all good0
