I have 4 “satisfied” defaults on my credit file from 2004, is it true that,
Granted by just being there it is not good, but as the defaults gets older it has less and less bad impact on my credit score
As underwriters concentrate on how recent credit is run, 0-3years old

    That is correct

The older the default the more chance you have of getting standard high street rates. It also will depend on the amounts that were oustanding for each default

A lot of the sub prime lenders will give you a near high street rate with a few defaults. db mortgages have 5.97% 2 year Accept:
    1) Max £5,000.00 in CCJs unsatisfied. This condition does not incur any rate loading.
    Ignore:
    1) Ignore all Defaults.
    2) CCJs registered 24 months ago or over.
    3) CCJs which have been fully paid.

    Accept:
    1) Max 1 missed payment in the last 3 months, which may be unpaid at the time of application. This condition does not incur any rate loading.
    2) Max 2 missed payments in the last 12 months, which may be unpaid at the time of application. This condition does not incur any rate loading.

    Hope this helps
