CSA have applied for DOE after one failed payment

Hi
I'm after some advice. My husband has been paying regular child maintenance on 15th of each month. In November we asked if it could be changed to 30th to fall in line with my pay date as too much comes out on 15th. CSA agreed, sent schedule of payments and a standing order form. Duly filled out standing order but rather than sent to bank sent to CSA (I don't know why in hindsight; we were thinking it was a similar process to DD) and of course the standing order didn't get set up which meant 30th December payment failed. My husband called them about 10th January to ask why payment wasn't taken and he was told we should had sent it to the bank and have now gone straight to his employer for DOE. He's not missed a payment in the two years it has been sent up. Can they actually do this for one missed payment? The standing order has now been set up on 30th but they've now applied for a DOE of almost double the schedule amount for 3 months to be taken direct from his wages on 15th as he has some arrears which were already being paid monthly until the missed payment (which was paid via card once he realised).
Any advice?
Thanks.

Try to reason with the CSA.
That sounds like a joke, but that's all you can do.0 -
He would need to clear off all his arrears for us to allow you to go back to a DD, Or, if you make enough fuss and speak to a team leader you may be able to set a DD up after a "good will" payment, of say, 50% of the arrears, and the other 50% in the first collection.0

The arrears were caused by the CSA for not setting payment schedules up in time which we were paying back monthly and were due to end in August!! He missed one payment! He will go to court and contact our MP bacause he wasn't given a chance as nobody contacted him to say the payment had to be missed.0 -

while i understand where your coming from, the fact the scheduled wasn't set up, you both knew that payment needed to be paid, So really in the eyes of the law you should have put it to one side and paid 2x payments on ure next installment, I wouldnt waste your time with courts, your going to be fighting goverment legislation, meaning your basically going to court with the government, ive never heard of a successful case, and Mp's are again, something that does absolutely nothing, but dont get me wrong, go for it if you feel strong enough.0 -

Many people's lives have been messed up. People's home were taken from them unlawfully and even police are in it too.
Pick up some tips from these cases and wise up.
