Private Health care

I am enquiring if anyone knows anything about a healthcare company called Benendenhealth. For £7.80 per month they offer general surgery, minor orthopaedics, ophthalmology for cataracts, varicose veins and hernia repair. They also claim to offer 24/7 freephone access to a GP advice line and counselling helpline. Seemingly they are a charitable organisation and have no upper age limit. No exclusions for pre-existing conditions and no price increase with age or service use. There is no excess to pay.
It seems too good to be true. Is it?

Benenden are a reputable company, civil service staff are offered it. I've been in it for years, as have all my family. It's excellent and I'd recommend it personally.0

are they here in N. Ireland??
`We only fund treatment that takes place at one of our selected benenden approved hospitals and benenden hospital, Kent. Diagnostic consultations can take place with a local consultant chosen by your GP.`0 -

We pay into this and have needed their services twice. I had an urgent private consultation and tests paid for.
More recently had a cholecystectomy done privately. The op was done at Kingsbridge Belfast.
The customer service from Benenden is faultless. :T0 -
Only used Beneden once. Hurt my shoulder in the gym. Told them my doctor said the physio on the NHS would be 4-6 weeks and then sorted me out an appointment a few days later.
They only offer private medical care when you cant get it as soon on the NHS. Which is likely all the time.
And yes I do believe they have a 24/7 GP advice line.
The Beneden Hospital is in Kent but thats there own. Here is a list of others that they use. Two in N.Ireland.

You will not get better private healthcare for £7.80pm anywhere. I think their private hospital provision is excellent and you get access to/treated by all our top consultants.
I rarely give recommendations, but I have no hesitation in this case.0 -
Without going into too much detail, if you want any questions answered about Benenden, just drop me a PM as I know a man who can help.0

I'm recuperating after benenden funded surgery for which I would have waited at least 2 years on nhs while having my movement range reducing by 10-15% each year. Can't praise them enough. We have our plan for me, OH and 2 grown up children. It's less than the price of a meal out for 4 once a month and gives so much peace of mind. What else would you use the money for?Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st 1lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
