I have done another qualification supported by that college and haven't paid a penny, however, don't expect fast results. I handed in my last assessment about a month ago and had to chase them to make sure they'd received it (to prevent them from telling me I had to pay!). I'm still waiting to find out whether I've passed that module (and the module handed in four weeks prior to that).
When I signed up to my Distance Learning Course, I got told that they were so busy that people were going on a waiting list, as they only had so many places, so it may be hard to get on the course, but best of luck!

Hi there - thanks for the info. 2nd attempt to reply to you (for some reason it blocked me last time).

Sorry to hear you had to chase them up. I've been quite lucky so far in that I enquired about the course on 7 November to make sure it was free etc. They sent me the application form and I returned it (but I took my time) - it was processed and I received my course workbooks on 16 December. Submitted my first Part for marking on 7 January 2014 and received feedback and pass notification on 17 January 2014. (I did make sure that once I hadn't received acknowledgement of receipt by the day after submission that I contacted the dept by phone and they then found my document whilst I was on the phone and sent an acknowledgement email).

Maybe the delay is to do with the type of course - my area is health and social care? Which online course did you do?

Yes, it was when I applied in November. Have a look at the link I posted as there are other courses that are free on there too.

Thanks OP. I did Level 1 at my local college in 2012! :)
Hi TC - Thank you. Are you going to do this one online? Did passing the first one open any doors for you? SS
