I have done another qualification supported by that college and haven't paid a penny, however, don't expect fast results. I handed in my last assessment about a month ago and had to chase them to make sure they'd received it (to prevent them from telling me I had to pay!). I'm still waiting to find out whether I've passed that module (and the module handed in four weeks prior to that).
When I signed up to my Distance Learning Course, I got told that they were so busy that people were going on a waiting list, as they only had so many places, so it may be hard to get on the course, but best of luck!0 -
Hi there - thanks for the info. 2nd attempt to reply to you (for some reason it blocked me last time).I have done another qualification supported by that college and haven't paid a penny, however, don't expect fast results. Sorry to hear you had to chase them up. I've been quite lucky so far in that I enquired about the course on 7 November to make sure it was free etc. They sent me the application form and I returned it (but I took my time) - it was processed and I received my course workbooks on 16 December. Submitted my first Part for marking on 7 January 2014 and received feedback and pass notification on 17 January 2014. (I did make sure that once I hadn't received acknowledgement of receipt by the day after submission that I contacted the dept by phone and they then found my document whilst I was on the phone and sent an acknowledgement email).
Maybe the delay is to do with the type of course - my area is health and social care? Which online course did you do?

Yes, it was when I applied in November. Have a look at the link I posted as there are other courses that are free on there too.WantToBeSE wrote: »Is this really free?0 -
Hi TC - Thank you. Are you going to do this one online? Did passing the first one open any doors for you? SSTwisted_Cherry wrote: »Thanks OP. I did Level 1 at my local college in 2012!
