tiny wedding reception, ideas anyone?

Hello everyone, im hoping to pick your brilliant brains a little if you don't mind!
We have set our date, its booked, and there are only going to be 7 guests (3 of whom will be aged two and under) and us.
We are eloping to escape the madness of the families that don't get on at the best of times!
But im stuck for ideas of what to do in the evening, we will be having the ceremony at 12pm, followed by a champagne reception, with strawberries and the cake cutting.
This will be followed by a 3 course meal at roughly 4/5pm, but after that im stuck!
Does anybody have any ideas of what we could do after that? I should imagine we will be finished with the meal by 7pm, 7.30pm at the latest really!
We have booked 3 nights accommodation for all of the guests attending as we are going to Poole Quay to get married

What about some sort of game? I imagine by that time, the little ones my be tired out, you could do a murder mystery or something similar.
Congratulations on your wedding, it's nice to meet another couple having an intimate ceremony. There will only be 8 guests at ours, not including us. My biggest worry is the bridal procession, I cannot imagine having the grand walk-down-the-aisle entrance with only 8 guests. XDue to get married in 2014. :grinheart

hehe, I have to say I hadn't really thought about that, but then two of my guests are bridesmaids and will be coming with me down the aisle, the same with two of the little ones, as they will both be toddling, the men will be at the front so I think I will just be looking at my future husbands face as I will be wearing a wedding gown and itll be the first time he sees me!
The kids will all crash out in their buggies, so we are not too fussed on that, as long as we have somewhere to go that has space for us to keep them with us obviously! I was just thinking of staying in the hotel with a few bottles of champagne (they have a bar, and two restaurants, so we could just have a corner in the bar) but didn't know if any creative people had something romantic to do xx0 -
Hmm...have you got anything like this near you? http://www.lady-florence.co.uk/cocktail.htm I think a version with some champagne and canapes or something could be lovely! Really romantic.GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Ooo thanks for that i might just see if i can book a cruise for me and my new husband (eeek!) we could always leave the bridesmaids to have a bit of alone time (they are both couples too) seeing as its valentines day we will be tying the knot! X0

Well that appears to be a no go!
all the boat trips near by seem to be from match onwards (i guess due to the weather?!)
But you have got me thinking that we could go off to have a couple of hours as husband and wife before regrouping with the wedding party the following morningim just not quite sure what to do! We wont want to go to a club or anything like that, and i would like to keep my dress on so i guess options are limited! X

Another thumbs-up to a murder-mystery style game
I'm sure you used to be able to get kits to organise your own? Or maybe get a few silly board games in and play them over a few bottles of champers?
Your wedding sounds lovely

Sorry the boat is a no-go! Hope you can find something really romantic and ideal for the two of you, any twiilight spa experiences near you? Soft lighting, warm bubbly water, glass of champagne, fluffy bathrobes, maybe a couples massage...or even better a serail private mud bath just for two...mmmm heaven!GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

If you are at Poole Quay why not pre book a session in a pottery workshop down there. You may be able to make your own special memories in china and if it's just a small group of you - they may let you have your session and not one that is part of a public session.
